GCC remittances, digital banking, exchange houses, fintech innovation and payment modernisation across the Gulf, Levant, Mesopotamia, Iran/Persian Gulf and the wider Arabian Peninsula. United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar already have real, published GPIR intelligence records and are linked below rather than duplicated. The other ten markets — Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman completing the six-member GCC, plus Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Yemen — are new canonical records, launched honestly as Coming Soon.
United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar each have a published GPIR Country Intelligence page, including a Migration & Diaspora Intelligence module built from their existing dashboard's own population data. All three are reused here via a direct link to that existing record — this directory does not create a second United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia or Qatar database, commentary or source list. Separately, Palestine does not have one simplified national currency in circulation: the Israeli new shekel (ILS), Jordanian dinar (JOD) and US dollar (USD) all circulate depending on context, so GPIR lists all three rather than fabricating a single ISO 4217 code. Iran is grouped under its own Iran / Persian Gulf heading for navigation only — it is not a GCC member.
The six-member Gulf Cooperation Council. United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar already have real, published GPIR records and link straight through — Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman are new canonical records completing the group.

GPIR intends to build a regional Middle East / GCC view covering GCC remittance outflows, cross-border P2P volume, diaspora and migrant-worker concentration, exchange house / MTO participation, the FinTech ecosystem, digital banking, open banking, payment infrastructure, GCC-specific corridor economics (for example UAE–India, UAE–Pakistan, Saudi Arabia–India, Qatar–India), and regulatory developments across all 13 markets above — the same intelligence layers already scoped for each individual country, extended with the Exchange House / MTO Intelligence layer that is particularly relevant to GCC markets. None of that regional-level data has been compiled or validated yet, so it is listed here as roadmap topics rather than populated with figures. Corridor significance will be driven by validated data, not hard-coded assumptions, once sourced:
Total GCC remittance outflows, top sending/receiving markets, digital vs. cash share and exchange-house/bank/fintech participation.
Licensed exchange houses and MTOs, PSPs, digital banks and wallet providers, sourced per country as pages are built.
CY2025 and YTD 2026 cross-border P2P volume, aggregated only if a supportable methodology exists.
Diaspora, immigrant and expat-worker concentration across the region, sourced per country as pages are built.
Major inbound/outbound corridors (e.g. UAE–India, Saudi Arabia–Pakistan, Qatar–Philippines), ranked only once volume data is validated.
Central bank and payments-regulator tracking across the region — regulator, publication date, effective date, status and source for each update.
GPIR will not aggregate individual country figures into a regional total unless the underlying methodology genuinely supports it — a regional number will not be published as a shortcut once countries are researched independently.
This directory reflects the GPIR Middle East / GCC roadmap honestly. United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar each have a real, published GPIR Country Intelligence page, and every tile above for those three links straight through to that existing record rather than duplicating it. The other ten markets (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen) are new canonical records shown honestly as Coming Soon, with real flag and currency data but no fabricated content. Countries are grouped by GCC, Levant, Mesopotamia, Iran/Persian Gulf and Arabian Peninsula for navigation only — this does not imply that payment ecosystems, regulation, currencies or economic conditions are identical within a grouping, and Iran's inclusion under its own heading does not imply GCC membership. Palestine's currency line intentionally lists ILS / JOD / USD rather than a single fabricated ISO 4217 code, reflecting its actual multi-currency circulation. As each new country is researched and published, it will move from Coming Soon to Active using the same reusable Country Intelligence template built for APAC, LATAM, Europe/SEPA, the Americas and Africa — extended with the Exchange House / MTO Intelligence layer given its structural importance across GCC markets — so the Middle East never needs 13 separate page designs.
