Research Initiative: Global Payments Intelligence Repository (GPIR) · Founder & Editorial Curator: Vishal Krishnan
Effective Date: 13 August 2026 · Last Updated: 13 August 2026
This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy ("IP Policy") explains the ownership, protection, permitted use, attribution and licensing of intellectual property associated with Fintechoisis and the Global Payments Intelligence Repository (GPIR).
Fintechoisis is being developed as an independent research and intelligence platform documenting and analysing the evolution of payments, banking infrastructure, financial-market infrastructure, fintech, remittances, financial technology, regulation, digital assets and the wider financial-services ecosystem.
The Repository is intended to evolve into a structured intelligence platform incorporating research, datasets, country intelligence, regional intelligence, analytical frameworks, visualisations, research tools and technology-assisted discovery.
This Policy should be read together with the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy applicable to the platform.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, original material created for Fintechoisis or GPIR is owned by, or licensed to, the Repository and its applicable rights holder. Protected material may include:
The fact that information is publicly accessible does not mean that the original compilation, organisation, presentation, analysis or visualisation created by GPIR is free from intellectual-property protection.
GPIR was founded and is curated by Vishal Krishnan. Research frameworks, analytical structures, editorial methodologies, original written work and other intellectual contributions developed personally by the Founder for GPIR may constitute intellectual property of the Founder, GPIR or the applicable operating entity.
Where ownership is transferred to a separate legal entity in the future, the relevant intellectual-property rights may be assigned or licensed to that entity. Nothing in this Policy should be interpreted as transferring intellectual-property ownership merely because material is published on the website.
GPIR may combine information from multiple sources to create original research and analytical outputs, for example: source material → data validation → classification → normalisation → analysis → interpretation → research output.
The underlying facts may be publicly available; however, the original selection, organisation, compilation, classification, methodology, interpretation, presentation and visualisation may constitute original intellectual property.
Users must distinguish between the underlying public information and GPIR's original research expression or compilation.
GPIR does not claim exclusive ownership over facts that are legitimately in the public domain. For example, GPIR does not claim ownership of a central bank's published interest-rate decision; a regulator's publicly issued rule; a company's publicly disclosed transaction volume; a publicly announced payment-system launch; a government-published statistic; or other facts that are not themselves protected by copyright.
However, the original presentation, analysis, compilation, classification, visualisation or interpretation of such information may be protected. Users should therefore distinguish between a public fact and GPIR's original research expression or compilation of that fact.
The Repository may reference or link to material belonging to third parties, including regulatory publications, central-bank publications, government documents, company reports, academic research, industry reports, public datasets, research papers, news publications, photographs, logos, trademarks, charts, graphics, and other third-party material.
Ownership of third-party material remains with the relevant rights holder. GPIR does not claim ownership of third-party intellectual property merely because it is referenced, cited, linked to or analysed within the Repository.
GPIR seeks to identify and attribute material sources where reasonably practicable. Where research relies upon third-party information, the Repository may provide source names, publication titles, publication dates, source links, regulatory references, dataset references, or other appropriate attribution.
Users who reproduce or rely upon third-party material are responsible for complying with the applicable rights and licensing conditions of the original source. Attribution to GPIR does not replace attribution requirements applicable to the original source.
The design and structure of Fintechoisis may contain original intellectual property, including page layouts, navigation structures, visual design, typography, content hierarchy, user-interface components, research presentation formats, dashboard structures, information architecture, original graphics, branding elements, interactive research components, and other original design elements.
Unauthorised copying or reproduction of the website or substantial portions of its design and structure is prohibited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
One of the principal intellectual assets of GPIR is its structured approach to organising financial-services knowledge. The Repository may develop proprietary or original classifications covering payments, banking, payment infrastructure, financial market infrastructure, cross-border money movement, remittances, fintech, digital assets, regulation, payment rails, financial institutions, countries, regions, corridors, use cases, technologies, and emerging financial models.
The underlying concepts may be common industry concepts; however, the particular taxonomy, hierarchy, relationships, classifications and research architecture developed by GPIR may constitute protected intellectual property.
GPIR may create or maintain datasets containing information collected from multiple sources. A dataset may contain public facts, licensed data, derived data, calculated values, normalised data, categorised information, historical information, research estimates, or original analytical fields.
The individual underlying facts may not necessarily be copyright-protected. However, the selection, arrangement, structure, compilation, classification, methodology and presentation of a dataset may be protected by applicable copyright, database rights or other intellectual-property laws. Specific datasets may be subject to separate licences or usage restrictions.
Original charts, graphs, maps, dashboards, infographics and visualisations created by GPIR are protected intellectual works to the extent permitted by applicable law. Users may reference or cite such material for legitimate research purposes where permitted.
Unless expressly licensed, users should not reproduce complete visualisations for commercial publication; remove GPIR attribution; alter a visualisation in a way that changes its meaning; present a GPIR visualisation as their own; remove source information; or include substantial numbers of GPIR visualisations in another publication or database.
Subject to these Terms, users may use reasonable portions of GPIR material for personal research, academic research, educational purposes, internal business analysis, professional presentations, commentary, criticism, review, and other lawful purposes permitted under applicable copyright law.
Where material is used, appropriate attribution should be provided. A suggested attribution is: Source: Global Payments Intelligence Repository (GPIR), Fintechoisis — [Research Title], [Year]. Where applicable, the original third-party source should also be acknowledged.
Commercial use of GPIR material may require prior written permission. Commercial use may include reselling research; incorporating substantial Repository content into commercial reports; creating a commercial database; licensing GPIR datasets; reproducing substantial research within paid products; incorporating GPIR content into commercial intelligence platforms; using substantial GPIR material in client deliverables; creating competing research products; or commercially redistributing Repository datasets or visualisations.
Users seeking commercial rights should contact GPIR to discuss an appropriate licence.
Unless expressly authorised, users must not copy substantial portions of the Repository; republish complete GPIR reports; reproduce substantial datasets; republish GPIR research as their own; remove source or attribution information; reproduce substantial numbers of GPIR charts; create a competing repository using GPIR content; systematically download Repository content; scrape the Repository at scale; mirror the website; extract content through automated systems for redistribution; sell or license GPIR material; use GPIR content to train or populate a competing commercial database without permission; or circumvent technical controls intended to protect Repository content.
These restrictions apply subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
The Repository may contain structured research, datasets, analytical frameworks and other materials that could be processed by automated systems. Unless expressly authorised by a separate licence, users must not systematically scrape GPIR content; crawl protected areas; extract substantial datasets; replicate Repository taxonomy; build a competing knowledge graph; use automated extraction to reproduce Repository content; or use substantial GPIR proprietary content to develop a competing commercial intelligence database or service.
This provision does not prevent lawful uses of individual facts, public-domain information or activities protected by applicable law. Where AI or machine-learning use is permitted, additional licensing conditions may apply.
Some components of GPIR may be developed or published through GitHub or other public software repositories. Where software or documentation is released under an explicit open-source licence, that licence governs the relevant material — for example, permitting code inspection, modification, forking, redistribution, or commercial use, subject to the conditions of the applicable licence.
However, an open-source software licence does not automatically apply to GPIR research, proprietary datasets, research reports, editorial content, branding, visualisations, taxonomies, proprietary data structures, or other Repository intellectual property. Each category of material should be considered under its applicable licence or rights statement.
Fintechoisis, Global Payments Intelligence Repository, GPIR, associated logos, names, marks, visual identities and related branding may be protected by applicable trademark and intellectual-property laws. Users may refer to these names for legitimate identification or attribution.
Users must not use Repository branding in a manner that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, certification, agency, or affiliation where no such relationship exists.
Users may occasionally submit research contributions, data, corrections, market observations, articles, commentary, survey responses, case studies, or other material. The submitting user remains responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights to submit the material.
Unless otherwise agreed, users should not submit confidential, proprietary or restricted information belonging to another person or organisation. Where material is voluntarily submitted for publication or research use, the applicable submission terms may grant GPIR a non-exclusive licence to review, reproduce, adapt, analyse, aggregate, anonymise and publish the material for legitimate Repository purposes.
Any specific licence granted at the time of submission will take precedence over the general provisions of this Policy to the extent of any inconsistency.
GPIR seeks to maintain research integrity and welcomes legitimate corrections. If you believe that a publication contains a factual error, incorrect attribution, an outdated data point, a source problem, an intellectual-property issue, or other material concern, please contact us.
We may investigate the matter and, where appropriate, correct the content; update the research; add a clarification; add a source; amend the attribution; or remove material where legally or editorially appropriate.
If you believe that material available on Fintechoisis infringes your copyright or other intellectual-property rights, please provide a written notice containing, where reasonably possible:
Notices should be sent to the email address in Section 29 below, with the subject line: "Copyright / Intellectual Property Notice — GPIR". We may remove, restrict, modify or investigate disputed material as appropriate and in accordance with applicable law.
Where appropriate under applicable law, a person whose material has been restricted or removed may provide information explaining why the material should remain available. We may request additional information to assess the matter. Nothing in this Policy limits any statutory rights or remedies available to copyright holders or users under applicable law.
GPIR may make certain materials available under separate licences, offered for research datasets, commercial data use, enterprise intelligence, research publications, visualisations, API access, content syndication, corporate research, academic use, or other approved purposes.
Licensing terms may specify permitted uses; duration; geographic scope; number of users; attribution requirements; redistribution rights; modification rights; commercial rights; and fees, where applicable. A separate written licence will take precedence over this Policy for the licensed material.
Except for the limited rights expressly granted under the Terms of Use, this Policy or a separate licence, access to Fintechoisis does not grant users ownership or other intellectual-property rights in Repository material. Viewing content through a web browser does not transfer copyright, database rights, trademark rights, patent rights, trade-secret rights, or other intellectual-property rights.
As GPIR evolves, the platform may introduce search engines, intelligence dashboards, data explorers, research databases, country intelligence tools, regulatory trackers, automated research tools, AI-assisted interfaces, knowledge graphs, analytical models, APIs, and other technology-enabled services.
The software, architecture, workflows, taxonomies, interfaces, models, databases and original research structures associated with these tools may constitute intellectual property of GPIR or its applicable licensors. Access to a tool does not grant ownership of its underlying technology or methodology.
GPIR may develop proprietary or original frameworks for market analysis, payment ecosystem mapping, country intelligence, corridor analysis, regulatory analysis, banking infrastructure analysis, financial-services taxonomy, payment-rail classification, fintech classification, digital-asset analysis, and other financial-services research.
The underlying concepts may be based on established industry knowledge. However, the original implementation, structure, methodology, written expression and presentation of such frameworks may be protected.
All rights not expressly granted to users are reserved by the applicable owner or rights holder. Nothing in this Policy transfers ownership of GPIR intellectual property; grants an unrestricted licence; waives copyright; waives database rights; waives trademark rights; or limits rights available under applicable law.
This Policy may be updated as the Repository develops, to reflect new types of intellectual property; new research products; new technology; new licensing models; changes in law; new platform functionality; or changes to the Repository's operating structure. The latest version published on Fintechoisis will apply from its stated effective date.
This Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, specific dataset licences, software licences, API terms, research subscription terms, and other specific terms published by GPIR. Where a specific written licence expressly applies to a particular material, that licence will govern the use of that material.

Fintechoisis and the Global Payments Intelligence Repository are being developed as a long-term knowledge and intelligence initiative. The Repository seeks to preserve, organise and connect information across the global financial ecosystem while maintaining a clear distinction between: public information → source evidence → research compilation → analytical interpretation → original intellectual property.
GPIR respects the intellectual-property rights of regulators, institutions, researchers, companies, publishers, academics and other information creators whose work contributes to the broader financial-services knowledge ecosystem. At the same time, the original research, organisation, analysis, methodology, presentation and technology developed by GPIR are intended to remain protected intellectual assets.
